Soup + Syrniki: Taste of Ukraine Seasonal Cooking Workshop at 8 N Cherry St – Poughkeepsie, NY

Vitalia Deriabina grew up in Ukraine cooking with her family. Now living in the United States, she has shared her Ukrainian heritage in workshops featuring traditional folk arts and speaking on the history and politics of Ukraine.

Join us Saturday, November 15th from 12-3pm as Vitalia offers a hands-on in-person cooking workshop featuring two traditional recipes ideal for your seasonal table. With Vitalia’s expert guidance, we will prepare a mushroom soup full of nourishing vegetables and finished with fresh dill, as well as syrniki, a well-loved treat enjoyed for breakfast, dessert, or anytime.

The workshop will be held at the Hudson Valley Open Kitchen, a beautiful fully-equipped shared-use commercial kitchen.

We will taste and talk as we cook, and Vitalia will share the story of her experiences growing up in Ukraine, as well as ways you can connect with and support the Ukrainian people today.
