Starting at 2 pm, Studio 42, a local community theater, brings “12 Angry Men” to life at the Lounge for the first time – a 1957 film that portrays the tense deliberation of a jury tasked with deciding the fate of a young man accused of murdering his father. The plot centers on a single, initially reluctant juror (Juror 8) who argues for “reasonable doubt” against the other 11 jurors, who are all quick to vote guilty. The film unfolds over one hot afternoon as Juror 8 meticulously questions the evidence and the other jurors’ biases, leading to a compelling drama of conflicting personalities and prejudices as they slowly work toward a unanimous verdict.
