Not sure how to create a staffing and training plan? Looking to develop an up-to-date risk management plan? Join us for our Adventure Program Supervisors Forum.
During this Zoom workshop we will explore strategies for elevating safety, and improving compliance with standards and regulations in Canada. Through a series of presentations and group discussions we will focus on your responsibilities as a course operator. Topics covered will include; Staffing, training, supervision, inspections, equipment management, development of local operating procedures, standards, regulations, and current trends.
No previous challenge course training or certification is required.
Objectives:
Understanding your responsibilities as an adventure program operator.
Gain a greater understanding of standards, regulations, and other requirements.
Learn strategies for creating a staff training and supervision plan for your program.
Gain a greater understanding of the inspection process.
Better understand the ways in which your vendor can support you and your program.

Workshop Leader: Brian Lisson.
Brian has been actively involved in facilitating adventure experiences, building ropes courses and training adventure leaders for over thirty five years . Brian has been actively involved in standards development locally and internationally. He currently is a member of the OPASSE (OPHEA) Climbing Standards Advisory Committee and member of the Board Emeritus of the Association for Challenge Course Technology (ACCT).
Brian is the recipient of the 2021 Critical Link Award from the ACCT. Brian was the 2011 recipient of the Robin Dennis Award and is an Honorary Lifetime Member of the Council of Outdoor Educators of Ontario.
