Event Description
Working with high-acuity adolescentsthose experiencing chronic suicidality, treatment-interfering behaviors, trauma, or system escalationcan test even the most seasoned clinician. How do we stay grounded in evidence-based care and hold the ethical line when boundaries are challenged?
This 3-hour training provides mental health professionals with essential tools to navigate complex ethical decisions, maintain strong therapeutic boundaries, and apply evidence-based treatments with high-risk adolescent clients.
Through case examples, decision-making frameworks, and practical boundary strategies, attendees will gain confidence managing some of the most ethically and clinically challenging scenarios in adolescent therapy.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this training, participants will be able to:
Apply ethical decision-making models in treatment with high-acuity youth
Set and maintain clinical boundaries with adolescents and caregivers
Modify evidence-based interventions and therapies (e.g., DBT, CAMS) to fit high-acuity cases
Improve clinical documentation to support ethical and legal protection
CE Credit Info
Idaho: 3 CE hours available for Ethics or Boundaries
Utah: 3 CE hours available for Ethics (CE approval through UMHCA is in progress)
A certificate of completion will be provided to all participants.
