Jazz Mafia: 25 year Retrospective at The Sound Room – Oakland, CA
Don’t miss this upcoming event in Oakland, CA. Happening on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at The Sound Room. Doors open at .
Featuring: Adam Theis (trombone, bandleader), Mike Olmos (trumpet), Tommy Occhiuto (tenor sax), Mario Ramirez (baritone & alto sax), Matt Clark (piano), Sam Bevan (upright & electric bass), Eric Garland (drums), Dublin (vocals), and very special guest Michael Emenau (aka MNO) on vibraphone
This special concert celebrates 25 years of Jazz Mafia’s futuristic jazz roots, revisiting the music that shaped the collective’s identity in its earliest days. Drawing from the first five years (2000–2005) of Jazz Mafia’s evolution—with material from Realistic Orchestra, Shotgun Wedding Quintet, and other formative projects—the ensemble reconnects with the sounds that defined its foundation.
For the first time in two decades, co-founding member Michael Emenau (MNO) rejoins the crew on vibraphone, adding a powerful sense of history and reunion to the night. Expect adventurous compositions, richly layered grooves, and inventive improvisation—all anchored by Dublin’s singular voice and joined by surprise guests from across the Mafia’s ever-expanding musical family.
