Join us at S&S Friendly Ranch for a family-friendly Ujima Day celebration with fun activities, community, and candle lighting ceremony!

Join us at S&S Friendly Ranch as we honor the third day of Kwanzaa:

Ujima – Collective Work and Responsibility.

This principle is not simply a holiday theme for us; it is a core value that shapes how we show up for one another, build community, and sustain the work that serves us all.

Ujima teaches us that our progress is intertwined. It reminds us that none of us moves forward alone and that our shared victories, challenges, resources, and responsibilities are held collectively. As we close out the year, we gather to reflect on how we have practiced Ujima in 2025—how we built together, solved problems together, and cared for our community together.

This celebration is an invitation to honor that work, deepen our connection, and recommit to the kind of collective power that moves our people toward healing, dignity, and joy.

What to Expect

  • Fun and engaging activities for everyone
  • Delicious food and time to build fellowship with neighbors and community partners
  • A community lesson exploring the meaning, purpose, and practice of Ujima
  • Artistic performances and live expressions
  • Music and a welcoming space to close out the year in community
  • A traditional Kwanzaa candle lighting ceremony
  • A short program highlighting the accomplishments of 2025 and how Ujima guided our work throughout the year
