Guanajuato: Night Walk with the Estudiantina – Guanajuato City, Mexico
The callejoneadas stand out for their bohemian and warm atmosphere; they revive the colonial history of Guanajuato through dances, songs and legends.
PRICE:
The callejoneadas are a tradition that emerged in Guanajuato in the middle of the 20th century, inspired by the old Spanish estudiantinas. These musical groups, composed mainly of university students, roam the alleys and squares of the city singing popular songs while recounting local legends and anecdotes. The tradition was adapted to Guanajuato’s colonial setting, where the narrow alleys and architectural landscape provide an ideal environment for the activity. Although the callejoneadas were born as a form of student entertainment, over time they have become one of the city’s main tourist attractions, preserving a connection to the history, culture and folk art of the region.
