Whistler: Cheakamus Lake Guided Hike in Garibaldi Park – Garibaldi Provincial Park, Canada
Explore the scenic Cheakamus Lake trail in Garibaldi Provincial Park on a leisurely guided hike. Wander through beautiful old-growth forests to the picturesque, glacier-fed lake.
PRICE:
Begin your hike at the trailhead, accessible by car with a 7-kilometre drive up Cheakamus Lake Road from the Whistler Interpretive Forest. Follow the well-maintained and well-marked trail through old-growth forests and enjoy the serene beauty of the natural surroundings.
As you hike, you’ll pass through towering ancient cedars and Douglas Fir trees and enjoy views of the wild, rushing Cheakamus River. Along the way, you have the option to take a short detour to a bridge that crosses high above the impressive roaring Cheakamus River. You may even be lucky enough to see some of the local wildlife!
Once at Cheakamus Lake you can relax at the natural beach and enjoy stunning views of turquoise water fed by the glacier, with pit toilets available at the campgrounds. If you are looking for a little more space, you can explore further up the trail to a private beach and enjoy beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and glaciers.
The trail is relatively flat, with minimal elevation gain, making it suitable for families, children, and casual hikers.
Plan for 3-3.5 hours for the full hike to Cheakamus Lake and back, covering a distance of about 7.8 kilometers.
While generally easy, be prepared to navigate fallen trees and some roots and rocks. Hiking poles can be provided for 1-2 guests if needed.
NOTE: Hotel pick-up option is for a hotel in Squamish or Whistler.
Hotel pick-up in Vancouver is currently not provided, but you may contact the guide directly for information on transportation options.
