Travel from Rapid City to Devils Tower on a full-day tour. Visit the monument that was featured in the movie “Close Encounters of the Third Kind starring Richard Dreyfuss. Stop at the 135 yr old Aladdin General Store and tour the bone beds at Vore Buffalo Jump.

Start your tour with pickup from your hotel in Rapid City. Drive on I-90 past the towns of Sturgis and Spearfish and into Wyoming. This is a 2-hour ride one way to Devils Tower Monument. The Tower is a sacred sight to the Native Americans. There is a small visitor center, restrooms, and walk the 1.3-mile path around the base of the tower which usually takes about an hour.

After you are done at the tower we drive to Hulett, WY, where you can buy your lunch. There is a gift shop and snack shop outside the park entrance as well. After lunch, we drive to the 135-year-old Aladdin General Store stopping for about 20 minutes. Next, we will stop at the Vore Buffalo Jump by Buelah, WY to tour the bone beds and displays in the tipi for appx 45 minutes. Vore Buffalo Jump is open June 1st to Labor Day.
