Walk past heroes from all of America’s wars and hear the remarkable stories of many of them from your local guide.
The tour stars in the Arlington National Cemetery Welcome Center at 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. We meet at a mannequin of an Army bugler in the Welcome Center. You’ll find restrooms, water stations, historical displays, benches, and a gift shop in the Center. Please plan to arrive 15-20 minutes before your tour in order to clear the airport-like security at the entrance to the Welcome Center. This is a U.S. Military installation – and you must clear security. Your guide, Allen McCabe, typically wears a black, broad-brimmed hat and will be wearing a lanyard showing his tour guide credentials. The tour finishes back at the Welcome Center. There is a large parking lot at the Welcome Center. Arlington is also served by the Blue Line metro (Arlington stop), or can be walked to from the National Mall by crossing Memorial Bridge behind the Lincoln Memorial.
A walking tour is the only way to see the cemetery up close – no large bus tour
We’ll visit the popular sites, but pay our respects to many other heroes as well
