That endorsement matters. As Welch notes, "We love Twisted Sister, who took rock and drag further than anybody at the time. This is our homage and 'thank you.' As young gay kids, seeing fully grown men in drag every day on MTV meant a lot, decades before RuPaul's Drag Race was a thing."

While their glitter-drenched, boa-adorned presentation might read as camp, make no mistake. Broadway Rock emphasizes that "while the band and their presentation may be campy, their musicianship is pure, unadulterated rock."
