Combine marine wildlife and spectacular scenery on a full-day shared tour to Seal Island and Cape Point. This popular route showcases the dramatic Atlantic coastline, Cape fur seals in their natural habitat, rugged cliffs and the African penguins of Boulders Beach.

Your experience begins with pickup from your Cape Town accommodation. Travel along the Atlantic Seaboard through Sea Point, Camps Bay and Llandudno as your guide points out viewpoints and highlights.

Your first main stop is the fishing harbour of Hout Bay, surrounded by steep mountains. Here you have the option to purchase a ticket for a shared boat cruise to Seal Island. The short cruise takes you to offshore rocks where large colonies of Cape fur seals rest, bark and play in the surf.

After returning to the harbour, continue over Chapman’s Peak Drive, one of the most scenic roads in the world. Its carved cliffs, winding bends and sweeping ocean views make for excellent photo stops. A viewpoint stop is included to stretch your legs and enjoy the scenery.

The journey then enters Cape Point Nature Reserve, a protected area of cliffs, beaches and fynbos vegetation. Spend time walking to the lighthouse, exploring the paths, and taking in the panoramic views of the peninsula meeting the ocean. Your guide shares stories of maritime history, shipwrecks and the importance of the area to early sailors.

Next, visit the Cape of Good Hope for photos at the famous sign and a short walk if conditions allow. Leaving the reserve, travel toward Simon’s Town and continue to Boulders Beach, home to a protected African penguin colony. Wooden boardwalks provide close yet respectful viewing of the penguins as they rest on the beach or swim in the clear waters.

Depending on timing and traffic, the return journey may pass through Muizenberg, known for its colourful beach huts and surfing culture. The day concludes with drop-off at your original pickup location in Cape Town.

This tour is ideal for travellers who want wildlife encounters, breathtaking views and the best of the Cape Peninsula’s natural attractions in one day.
