Braunschweig, the second largest city in Lower Saxony, is now an important European location for science and research. The city also looks back on almost a thousand years of history. It offers you countless exciting discoveries during a city tour. As your personal and certified tour guides, we will take you on a journey through time where you can not only marvel at the famous sights, but also delve into the lesser-known corners that make up the true character of this city.

From majestic medieval buildings to modern cultural institutions, Braunschweig combines tradition and modernity in a unique way. Whether you are interested in history, architecture or art, our goal is for you to leave our interesting city not just as a tourist, but as a friend, enriched by unforgettable memories and new insights.

The historical city walk with Tom or Tobi through the city center provides an insight into the exciting and eventful history of the Lion City. Braunschweig was first mentioned in documents almost 1,000 years ago and around 850 years ago, Henry the Lion, Duke of Saxony and Bavaria, and his wife Mathilde of England made the city their residence. We stroll through medieval streets and discover the traces of the Hanseatic merchants and the Guelphs who shaped Braunschweig over the centuries in historical places.

The starting point is the picturesque Magniviertel. The first stop takes us past the unique Rizzi House in front of the Braunschweig Residential Palace. From there we continue to the German Unity Square. Our tour then takes us across Burgplatz with Braunschweig’s landmark, the lion, Dankwarderode Castle and St. Blasii Cathedral. Past the Ringerbrunnen we continue to the lively Kohlmarkt. At the end of the tour, we visit the historic square at the Martinikirche and the historic old town market together.

We would be happy to assist you with individual inquiries and special themed tours to make your stay in Braunschweig as personal and unique as possible. Tobi and I are looking forward to welcoming you in person soon and discovering the beauty and diversity of this city together with you.
