Explore the picturesque of Freiburg during a wonderful walking tour through the old town.

See the famous Freiburger Bächle, the small waterways along the streets and alleys, and the contorted alleys called Gässle, as well as many of the colorful Rheinkiesel-mosaics, which give the city its distinctive atmosphere.
Head to Minster Square with its beautiful community centers and secular buildings and see the traditional farmers’ market (in the morning) as well as many cafés and pubs called Beizen.

The meeting point for your tour is the SCHWARZWALDMARIE, which is located on the Minster square. Here, your guide will be waiting for you. After a short overview into the history of Freiburg, you will discover the bizarrely shaped gargoyles, the delicate steeple, and the colorful farmers’ market on Minster Square.

Explore some of the historic sights around the impressive cathedral.
See the historic department store, the Alte Wache, the Haus zum schönen Eck and many more. Continue along the Konviktstraßen, one of the most beautiful alleys in Freiburg, until you get to the Handwerkerviertel.

Passing the Augustiner square and the popular Augustiner museum, you make your way to Kaiser Joseph Strasse, the main shopping street in Freiburg. From here you can see the Martins gate, one of the surviving city gates of Freiburgs oldtown.

You way continues to Rathaus Square, where not one, but two historic townhalls await you. Passing the “Haus zum Walfisch” you make your way back to Münster square where yout tour ends.
