We often say that Falu Mine is a place with a thousand years of history. When you visit the Mine Museum, you will discover that the history of Falu Mine also tells the story of Sweden and Europe over many centuries. In our interactive exhibitions, visitors of all ages can explore the important role that Falu and the mine have played throughout history.

Sheet copper from Falu Mine once covered the roof of the 17th-century French palace of Versailles. And speaking of royalty—almost every Swedish monarch has visited the mine.

At our interactive museum, you can both see and touch. It is located in the mine area, right next to the Great Pit.
