The creators of the successful exhibition “The Mystery of Banksy – A Genius Mind,” which captivated visitors at Kunstkraftwerk in 2022 and has since become the most popular show about the street art superstar worldwide with around 3 million visitors, are back in Leipzig! visitors, making it the most successful show about the street art superstar worldwide, are back in Leipzig! And that’s from the 30th. May 2025 with the new pop-up exhibition “House of Banksy Leipzig – An Unauthorized Exhibition”! At Grimmaische Straße 10 (formerly Esprit Store), in the heart of Leipzig City, an unprecedented presentation of over 150 motifs by the celebrated artist will be shown on an area of 1,00 square meters. This makes the exhibition, which has already attracted around 300,000 visitors at its first two stops in Munich and Hamburg, probably the most extensive and sought-after exhibition about the street art superstar in Europe, and it clearly stands out from all Banksy presentations shown so far!

Graffiti, photographs, sculptures, video installations, and prints on various materials such as canvas, fine art paper, wood, aluminum, plaster, concrete, and brick were reproduced and compiled specifically for this exhibition. In an elaborate and unique setting, visitors get a comprehensive insight into the exceptional artist’s entire oeuvre. This homage and the image installations shown there aren’t authorized by the artist himself due to his anonymous status. About 80% of all exhibited graffiti and motifs are now barely accessible or no longer accessible in their original form. They were removed, torn down, destroyed, sprayed over, or ripped from the walls and then auctioned off for a lot of money. Some of them, especially his serigraphs, are now privately owned or owned by art dealers. The equally impressive reproductions, created and sprayed live on-site by an internationally renowned team of graffiti artists for each exhibition, let you wander in Banksy’s footsteps and make his art understandable and tangible in an unprecedented way and up close.

Bilingual & accessible: texts in German and English. The exhibition is wheelchair accessible.
