Visit a Sámi family’s home, bake traditional flatbread, carve your own butter knife, and taste Arctic flavors while learning Sámi food culture.

PRICE: $305

Step inside a Sámi family’s home in the heart of Swedish Lapland and experience Sámi culture through food, craft, and storytelling. This intimate and hands-on activity connects you with Arctic traditions that have been passed down through generations.

Together with your hosts, you’ll bake Gahkku – the traditional Sámi flatbread – on a griddle by the indoor fire, just as their ancestors once did in the wilderness. While the bread rests, you’ll carve your own butter knife from wood – a mindful, personal craft that makes the meal ahead even more special.

As you bake and carve, stories unfold about Sámi life, philosophy, and food heritage — from ancient preservation methods to the deep respect for nature’s pantry.

The experience ends with a guided tasting of homemade Arctic delicacies: smoked and dried reindeer, fish, local cheese, fresh greens, berries, mushrooms, and of course the bread you baked yourself. Everything is prepared and served by the Sámi family in their cozy winter home, warmed by candlelight and the crackling fire.

This 5-hour experience starts at 10:00 and welcomes small groups, couples, families, and friends. Children from 8 years are invited to join the joy of baking, carving, and tasting.

Included: Apron, equipment, all food and beverages, Sámi bread baking, carving your own butter knife, storytelling, and guided tasting of local delicacies.

Come as guests, leave as friends — with new skills, a handmade butter knife, and a genuine taste of Arctic Sámi life.
