Just 20 minutes from central Stockholm in Lidingö, discover the popular destination Millesgården, home and sculpture park of the world-famous sculptor Carl Milles and his artist wife Olga Milles.
In this flourishing haven with bubbling fountains and flower-adorned terraces, you will find a unique setting that offers both leisure and cultural experiences. A short stroll through the exquisite park, where you can view around one hundred sculptures ̶ of which some ten are larger fountain groups ̶ all by Carl Milles, leads to the Artist’s Home. In Carl and Olga’s home you can explore the Large Studio where Carl created his large sculptures, the beautiful breakfast room clad in blue Dutch tiles, the Pompeii-inspired Gallery as well as Carl’s grand collection of classical sculptures and objects.
At Millesgården Lanthandel, you can enjoy a tasty lunch or have an afternoon coffee before visiting Anne’s House, tastefully decorated by Estrid Ericson and Josef Frank from Svenskt Tenn. Continue to the Art Gallery to discover its exciting exhibitions and complete your visit to Millesgården in the charming museum shop.
Open Tuesdays to Sundays 11:00-17:00, all year round.
How to get here:
Public transportation
Subway to Ropsten and then bus 201, 202, 204, 206, 211, 212 or 221 to Torsviks Torg. From Torsviks Torg there is a 7 minutes walk to Millesgården. Follow the signs.
Instead of bus you can take Lidingöbanan (local tram) from Ropsten to Torsvik or Baggeby. Millesgården is located in between these two stations. From there it’s a 7 minutes walk to Millesgården.
Travel time from T-Centralen ca 20 minutes.

Parking
Free parking available at Herserudsvägen 32, just outside the main entrance.
Bicycle
Use a bike to get to Millesgården. Cycle path is available over the Lidingö bridge.
