You’ll paddle past the entrances of Sungei Tampines and Sungei Api Api. While entry into the rivers is restricted by PUB, the mangroves remain a crucial part of the journey. Dense clusters line the coastline — especially at the mouth of Sungei Tampines — forming a rich habitat for nocturnal life. Guides share stories about these ecosystems, their coastal heritage, and the creatures that depend on them. Keep watch for owls perched in the trees, herons wading in the shallows, and bats swooping overhead.
