Welcome to UTV Takeover – The largest Offroad event in the country!

Where is Area 17 located?

Area 17 is referred to as our Beach Pod Camping. We refer to a “Beach Pod” as a group of self-sufficient trailers camping overnight on the beach. The Beach Pod area is located just east of the Sandpit Campground, north of Sand Hollow Road along the beach of the existing lake. If you have friends staying in Lake View Campground or the Sand Pit Campground these passes can also be used as extra vehicle pass for those areas. Please be aware that if you are using this pass for an extra vehicle pass, all vehicles must fit within the boundaries of the reserved campsite. If a vehicle does not fit that vehicle will be asked to camp in the “Pod” area located on the beach.

How much are the Beach Pod camping passes?

Each Pod camping pass is $225.

How many days are the Beach Pod camping passes good for?

Each Beach Pod camping pass is good for six days and five nights starting at 12pm MT on Tuesday, October 20th through 12pm MT on Sunday, October 25th.

How can I purchase Beach Pod camping passes?

Camping passes can be pre-purchased through our website by using the link on this page. If Beach Pod camping passes do not sell out before the event begins, passes can be purchased at the entry gate when you arrive.

Does my Beach Pod camping pass purchase include any event entry wristbands?

No. Beach Camping passes and wristbands are sold separately. We did this to keep the cost as cheap as possible and wanted to make sure each participant only had to purchase what they needed.

How can I purchase event entry wristbands?

You can pre-purchase wristbands through the website up to the week of the event or purchase them at the gate for $60. We recommend purchasing them through the website to help reduce wait times at the gate. The $60 wristbands now includes all 5 days of the event and access to the state park. Once Inside the event ALL events are rides are FREE.

Do I need event entry wristbands to access my campsite?

Yes, please be aware everybody in your vehicle will need event entry wristbands to get through the entry gate to access your camping spot. Wristbands are $60 per person through the website or at the gate. Kids 12 and under are free! New this year, the park entrance feeis now included in the $60. No more paying to get in the park and then paying again to access the event area.

When can I check into the Beach Pod campsites?

The event starts at 9am MT on Wednesday but you can check in starting 12pm MT on Tuesday, October 20th. Unlike previous years there is NO additional charge to set up camp on Tuesday!

When do I need to check out?

All participants are asked to clean their sites and check out by 12pm MT on Sunday, October 25th.

Does each vehicle in my group need a vehicle pass or just the vehicles pulling trailers?

Yes, each vehicle will need a vehicle pass. Each Beach Pod camping pass comes with one vehicle pass. Each additional vehicle is considered a new camper and will need a camping pass and can be obtained by purchasing a Pod Sand Camping pass at $225 each. We have a land-use agreement with the State Park that only allows a certain number of vehicles in the event area at any given time. We monitor the number of vehicles by limiting the number of passes we sell. Vehicle passes will be checked at the gate before entering the event area.

Will a dozer be available?

Dozers are not required in the pod area. The pod area’s access trail is fairly well packed and should be effortless to enter. Once on the beach, the sand may begin to soften and require more thought to traverse and may change due to water levels. Please do your research before the event and be prepared to access the sand without the use of a dozer. However, we will have a dozer on-site to assist you if you should get stuck. The dozer service is FREE, but tips are welcome. Please be aware that with such a large event, there may be other campers being assisted by the dozer team and you may be required to wait for another camper to be unhooked before they can assist your vehicle.

How do I access my Beach Pod campsite?

Area 17 can be accessed from Sand Hollow Road. Once participants arrive at the event gates, you will be greeted and guided to the Beach Pod camping area. We have created a staging concept that will accommodate fifteen 40’ trailers at any given time where participants can safely air down their trucks and trailers before entering the beach. There will be a dozer available in this area if needed. Participants will be asked to enter the beach under their vehicle’s power similar to any other weekend throughout the year. Our dedicated security team and dedicated traffic control team will be available throughout the event to offer assistance and answer any questions.

Does my Beach Pod campsite have utilities?

No. These are dry camping sites located on the beach. You will need to supply your water. We recommend filling your tanks in Hurricane or at the Westside Campground located in the park. The Westside Campground has four dump stations and a water filling station that can be used before accessing the event area. Gray/Blackwater is not permitted to be dumped on the beach. If you need your tanks dumped during the event, we will have a septic service company you can call for a small fee or you can head over to the Westside Campground location just 1/2 mile away.

Are campfires allowed in Area 17?

Campfires are allowed on the sand. Participants are asked to dig a hole for the fire and fill it in at the end of the event. We asked participants not to throw cans and garbage in the campfire. NO glass is allowed on the beach! Any unused firewood remaining at the end of the event must be taken with you when you leave. Please help us leave Sand Hollow better than we found it!

Are there dumpsters near the Beach Pod campsites?

Area 17 will have access to 20-yard dumpsters located throughout the area during the event. These dumpsters will act as a disposal site for any participants camping on the beach while also providing additional capacity for the state park.

Are there restrooms/showers in Area 17?

Area 17 will have access to portable restrooms located throughout the area during the event. Campers are required to be self-contained similar to any other weekend. Showers are NOT available in Area 17.

Is there a campground host in Area 17?

Areas 17 will NOT have a Campground Host; however, this area will be monitored throughout the day by our UTV Takeover security team with assistance from the local Parks Service and Sheriff.
