Set on a bleak, windswept English moor, this play follows two eccentric sisters and a naïve governess—but where is the man of the manor, and where is the child she is supposed to look after? And can their mastiff negotiate a cross-species relationship with a moor-hen? What follows is a darkly comic exploration of longing, repression, ambition, and desire.
