Come celebrate The Inner Loop’s 12th anniversary by joining us at Shaw’s Tavern on April 21st at 7pm for our April Reading featuring Dan Vera alongside nine other local readers in poetry, nonfiction, and fiction! Our mission is to create an inclusive writing community in DC, so we encourage you to grab some food, a drink, and meet other literature lovers. We can’t wait to see you there!

Dan Vera is a DC-based writer and editor. Recipient of the Oscar Wilde Award for Poetry and the Letras Latinas/Red Hen Poetry Prize, he’s the co-editor of Imaniman: Poets Writing in the Anzaldúan Borderlands and author of The Space Between Our Danger and Delight, Speaking Wiri Wiri, and the forthcoming Celestial Fire: Songs of a Love That Dares. His poems appear in high school textbooks, university curricula, various journals like Poetry, Notre Dame Review, and Poet Lore; and in various anthologies including The Library of America’s Latino Poetry Anthology.
