The tour kicks off with a quick safety talk and some environmental guidance. It’s essential to understand that Akumal is a protected natural area, so wearing a life jacket is mandatory at all times to ensure buoyancy and prevent accidental damage to reefs or seagrass. Your guide will explain the minimum distance rules and how to behave so as not to interrupt the turtles’ natural feeding cycle.
