We’ll get in touch the day before the experience to let you know the name of the service executive who will be assisting you, the pick-up time, and some recommendations.
On the day of the experience, we’ll have a journey of about 1.5 hours to our first stop: the Cave of Wonders. Here, we’ll visit a beautiful cave of about 2000 square meters, of which 800 meters are open for exploration. We’ll observe its flora and fauna and admire the stalagmites and stalactites, accompanied by expert guides.
Then we’ll leave the cave and admire a breeding ground for rhinoceros iguanas, where they’re kept to grow the population and later release them into their natural habitats.
Leaving the Cave of Wonders, we’ll travel about 30 minutes to the pier of La Romana, where we’ll enjoy a typical lunch accompanied by a non-alcoholic drink and beautiful views of the Romana River.
After a well-deserved lunch break, we’ll head to Altos de Chavón in Casa de Campo, where we’ll visit its viewpoint (overlooking the Chavón River), the San Estanislao Church, a fountain inspired by the Trevi Fountain in Rome, the Altos de Chavón Amphitheater, the Dominican Amber and Larimar Museum, and the Altos de Chavón Archaeological Museum.
The visit to Altos de Chavón and the Cave of Wonders can be alternated according to the availability of both places, so that our clients have the most fluid space/time possible.
At the end of the tour, we’ll head back to visit a gift shop, where you can try our typical Mamajuana, coffee, and handmade chocolate, and, if you like, pick up some beautiful souvenirs for your loved ones.
