PRICE: $211
per group up to 15
Starting at the late Gothic St. Martin’s Church, which still has the tallest brick church tower in the world, we’ll dive into the medieval city structure of Landshut. During the walk, we’ll experience the daring construction of the Gothic period and, in the immediate vicinity, a representative Renaissance palace building (the first of its kind north of the Alps) by the famous Italian architect Giulio Romano. We’ll encounter lush Baroque and Rococo by Johann Baptist Zimmermann, Historicism by Hauberrisser, and contemporary buildings in a historical context. Learn more about the background and the tension between monument preservation, identity, and urban renewal. An architect, an experienced guide, will lead you.
