Enjoy the most complete and comfortable way to experience El Caminito del Rey, one of the most spectacular hiking routes in southern Spain. Walk along breathtaking footbridges suspended more than 100 meters above the Gaitanes Gorge, accompanied by an official local guide who will bring the history, nature, and engineering of this unique place to life.

Meet your guide at the Reception of La Garganta Hotel, located next to the south access of El Caminito del Rey, just 100 meters from the El Chorro–Caminito del Rey train station. After a short introduction, you will take the included shuttle bus from the south access to the north entrance (Ardales), where the route begins, enjoying panoramic views of the Conde de Guadalhorce Reservoir along the way.

Before reaching the access control point, walk through a rock-carved tunnel and enjoy a pleasant 15-minute trail surrounded by Mediterranean vegetation while learning about King Alfonso XIII and the origins of this historic engineering masterpiece. At the official entrance, you will receive a safety helmet and clear instructions to start the route with total peace of mind.

The adventure continues along more than 3 km of suspended walkways, some sections barely one meter wide, clinging to the vertical walls of the gorge. Discover iconic spots such as the Chocolate (or Butter) Steps, the Tajo de las Palomas Canyon, the coexistence of the old and new Caminito, the King’s Bridge, the Glass Viewpoint, the Valle del Hoyo, and the dramatic narrows of the Gran Gaitán.

The highlight of the experience is crossing the hanging bridge, an unforgettable moment offering spectacular views over the Chorro reservoir and the surrounding cliffs. After crossing, a scenic downhill path leads you back to the south access, where the tour ends near the picnic area and Restaurant La Garganta, perfect for relaxing with a drink or returning by train or car.
