Discover the real heart of San José on the Chepe Chinchurro Crawl, a guided walking tour through the city’s most iconic chinchurros. These traditional dive bars are where locals come to unwind after work, share stories, enjoy a drink, and connect through Costa Rica’s rich local culture.

Join our friendly local guide and explore three to four authentic bars, depending on the day and the vibe at each spot. Every chinchurro has its own story, regulars, and atmosphere. The bartenders have been serving familiar faces for years, the music is lively, and every stop gives you a real taste of downtown Chepe life.

The tour begins at the National Theatre at 6:30 p.m. and ends around 9:30 p.m. The first bar is about a ten-minute walk, so wear comfortable shoes. As you move between stops, you will enjoy a little city sightseeing, learn about San José’s architecture, and experience the rhythm of the streets as the day transitions into evening.

At each stop, you will enjoy one included drink. Choose from domestic beers or classic Costa Rican liquors such as Rum Colorado or Guaro. There is time to relax, chat, and take in the atmosphere before moving on. Non-alcoholic options are also available for anyone who prefers them.

The evening ends with a tasting of curated Costa Rican appetizers such as patacones, ceviche, chifrijo, tortillas, and pico de gallo, depending on group size and availability. It’s the perfect way to enjoy authentic local food, meet new people, and experience San José like a local.
