Paddle past the 140-year-old Cold Spring Harbor Labs, home to 8 Nobel Prize-winning scientists. Learn about the institution’s role in molecular biology and genetics.

Pass by the private home of James Watson, an American molecular biologist, geneticist, and zoologist. In 1953, he co-authored with Francis Crick the academic paper proposing the double helix structure of the DNA molecule.

After your tour, take a short walk to the beautiful Village of Cold Spring Harbor, where you can visit the shops and restaurants. Ask your guide for a brochure listing everything to see upon your arrival.

If you’re up for it, take a hike just across the street at Cold Spring Harbor State Park. The hiking and parking are free, and the (2) trails are some of the most popular and highly rated hikes on Long Island.
