Explore Crozant and the Valley of the Painters in the open air, on a route adapted to your pace, alternating between walking and car travel. Take your guide with you in your car for a day-long road trip in the heart of this picturesque valley in the north of the Creuse!

Pick up the guide at a mutually agreed meeting point and let the adventure begin! They will take over from your GPS to guide you along the roads and trails on our route. We will have lunch together, either at a restaurant or with a picnic. Several options for locations and atmospheres will be suggested, depending on your preferences.

Overlooking the confluence of the Sédelle and Creuse rivers, your guide will show you all the unmissable views of the ruins of the medieval fortress of Crozant, including some spots that are sometimes overlooked by tourists.

The site’s natural heritage has also been a source of inspiration for Impressionist painters such as Armand Guillaumin and Claude Monet. Immerse yourself in the green and refreshing atmosphere of the Sédelle Valley and its interpretive trail, punctuated by the bubbling river and the bucolic mills that line it.

Stroll through the narrow streets of the village in the footsteps of George Sand. The village of Crozant still bears traces of its artistic past in its iconic buildings: villas, terraces, and the Hôtel Lépinat, which has hosted many painters.

Following in their footsteps, our road trip will take you to Fresselines, another mecca of Impressionist painting. Let yourself be carried away by the sunlight, filtered through the leaves, in the depths of the valley, with its beaches, bridges, fords, and footbridges of all ages and sizes.

As the day begins to draw to a close, we will leave the Valley of Painters for the pickup location, where your guide will bid you farewell… until your next adventure in Creuse!
