Full description
Charters will meet and depart from Pete’s Pier and head out The Crystal River to an area in the gulf we call “The Scallop Grounds” (About a 30-40 minute boat ride). Once at our first location guests will gear up with a mask, snorkel, fins, and a scallop bag, all provided with your charter. And once you’re geared up and get in the water, you essentially start to snorkel along the surface and look down into the seagrass for scallops! Once you spot a scallop, you’ll dive down, grab it, put it in your scallop bag, and repeat! The best way to describe this activity is like an underwater easter egg hunt!
There will also be an in-water guide included with your charter (at no extra cost) that can help assist anyone newer to snorkeling or scalloping. They can help teach you their tips and tricks on how to locate and find scallops, how to dive down and even how catch them as well. And even more, your in-water guide will also be taking photos throughout the day to capture the memories so you don’t have to! We send all photos free after each charter.

The limit for scallops in Citrus County is up to 2 gallons per person or 10 gallons per vessel, so the goal is to fill your limit!
There will be two separate coolers aboard stocked with ice, one for scallops and one for food & drinks. So feel free to bring lunch, snacks, drinks etc. Alcohol is allowed we just ask for it to be consumed responsibly and no glass bottles aboard.

When the charter is over we will return back to Pete’s Pier with our Scallops! We do encourage our guests to bring a personal cooler to take scallops home at the end.
