Paddle your way north in Stenebyälven on a kayaking tour from Dals Långed. Enjoy a unique area with great pot holes from the ice age and see sweet water clams and beavers.

Discover the beauty of Dals Långed with a self-guided kayak tour along the scenic Steneby River. This half-day adventure starts at the Dalslands Aktiviteter facility, where you’ll receive a short introduction before setting out on your own to paddle north.

The river features crystal-clear water, sweetwater clams, and evidence of ancient glacial activity, such as large potholes carved into the rocks. You’ll navigate gentle whitewater sections and occasionally lift your kayak over natural obstacles like fallen trees—often the work of local beavers.

This 8-kilometer stretch offers an up-close view of Sweden’s pristine wilderness. Keep your eyes open for wildlife and take in the serene beauty of untouched nature. After about 2–3 hours of paddling, you’ll reach the designated pickup point at the rapids, where staff will meet you and transport the kayaks back to the starting point.

Want to enhance the experience? Pack some traditional Swedish fika for the trip or upgrade with a guide to gain deeper insight into the landscape and kayaking technique.
