Full description
Experience a taste of Denver’s diverse culinary scene on an evening tour led by a knowledgeable local. Over the course of a relaxed 2-mile walk, we’ll visit four different spots where you’ll sample some of the city’s best dishes and drinks.
Along the way, you’ll hear stories about Denver’s history and its dynamic food and beverage scene, all while passing by some of RiNo’s most stunning murals.
After dinner, you’ll end up in one of Denver’s liveliest areas for nightlife and live music—a perfect spot to continue your evening.
Our tours are flexible, and we’re happy to try other places along the way. You’ll choose your own tacos, bbq and pizza, and if there’s something else you’d like to try at any stop, just let us know.
Tour Itinerary:
1. La Diabla Pozole y Mezcal: Start with a taste of traditional Mexican cuisine, including pozole, a flavorful soup, and guisado tacos with stewed fillings in warm corn tortillas. Enjoy refreshing margaritas and cocktails featuring mezcal and tequila.
2. Pema is a hidden gem in RiNo serving up flavorful Tibetan, Indian, and Nepali dishes. It’s a cozy, casual spot with a menu full of vibrant spices and comforting street food favorites.Depending on the size of the group, we’ll start with pani puri—a fun and tasty snack with crispy shells filled with spiced potatoes, chickpeas, and tangy tamarind water.
If there are more than two people on the tour, we’ll also try something extra—often momos (steamed dumplings filled with meat or veggies) or another delicious dish the group chooses together. It’s a great chance to sample something new and share flavors from the Himalayas.
3. Pit Fiend Barbecue – We stop here for some delicious brisket (and more, depending on the group size), along with an optional beer from Our Mutual Friend Brewery. However, Pit Fiend BBQ is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, so on those days we go to Corsica wine bar.
4. Denver Central Market: Explore this bustling market with 11 vendors. We’ll share a wood-fired pizza from Vero Italian, known for its exceptional pizza and pasta. For smaller groups, we may opt for a slice from Redeemer Pizza next door.
5. Sweet Ending: Conclude your tour with a treat from Izzio Bakery in the market. Choose a Colorado Queen pastry in flavors like classic, cherry, caramel, apple, peach, chocolate, Nutella, caramel pecan, dulce de leche, or pistachio. Alternatively, select a similarly priced item if you prefer.
