MOCA & COS present an ensemble of accomplished instructors performing a diverse and engaging program of chamber works.

The Museum of Chinese in America is proud to collaborate with the Children’s Orchestra Society for a special concert, An Afternoon with Virtuosos: A Faculty Concert by the Children’s Orchestra Society.

The Children’s Orchestra Society (COS) has been nurturing young musicians in New York City for decades, providing high-level training and fostering a lifelong love of classical music through performance, mentorship, and community engagement. For this special faculty concert, COS presents an ensemble of accomplished instructors performing a diverse and engaging program of chamber works.

Audiences will enjoy the rich textures of strings and piano, along with the distinctive addition of guitar, featured in Boccherini’s lively Fandango and selections from Michael Dadap’s Folkloric Quintet for Guitar & Strings, adding vibrant color to the ensemble’s sound. Other highlights include Dvořák’s Quinte for Piano & Strings, J. Silos’ Brown Tango, and Mendelssohn’s Octet for Strings. This special concert welcome audiences of all ages.
