Experience this quintet performance ft. Hunter Diamond, Florian Nastorg, Yoram Rosilio, & olula negre.

We invite you to join us Monday, November 10 from 7 to 9 PM at The Land School, our newest space-based project, as we host The Bridge for this year’s Tracteur Hammer [TB#2.8] quintet performance featuring:

  • Hunter Diamond (tenor saxophone and electronics)
  • Florian Nastorg (baritone saxophone)
  • Yoram Rosilio (double bass)
  • olula negre (cello)

Rooted in the rich culture of improvised music in Chicago, the ensemble rejects rigid genre boundaries, letting sound move freely, approaching and ascending from all sides at once.

What’s certain for me is that whatever I plan or expect, the music can be something else. In improvisational contexts, whenever I expected music to go this way or that way, it always went another way. And that other direction has always been the right one. The music decides, we play it. It’s as if we were the tools that make it possible to listen to it”

Florian Nastorg

About The Bridge

The Bridge is a transatlantic network for jazz and creative music that incarnates and actualizes ideals of creativity and solidarity through music invented collectively while encouraging and sustaining a dynamic transcultural dialogue on two continents. Over the past 12 years, it has worked with nearly 150 musicians to organize more than 30 extended tours of the France and the Midwest, with each tour featuring a different combination of musicians from within the network. The Bridge not only promote a series of distinct transatlantic ensembles; it also leverages opportunities inherent within each tour to electrify a broader network of musicians, with the goal of creating a broad circulation of shared experiences, ideas, and perspectives—and to foster mutual understanding through time spent together.
