Inter-Faith Fellowship & The Community House Present our November Presentation: Honoring the Brave: The Origins of Veteran’s Day
Join us to discover how this meaningful holiday began as Armistice Day, commemorating the end of World War I on November 11, 1918, and how it transformed into a day that honors all American veterans. This engaging talk will highlight the cultural significance of military service in the United States, the sacrifices made by generations of veterans, and how the nation has remembered and celebrated their service over time.
About the Speaker – Robert I. Girardi: Robert I. Girardi is a respected historian with a master’s degree in Public History from Loyola University Chicago. A lifelong Civil War enthusiast, he has studied battlefields, collected artifacts, and immersed himself in the letters and diaries of soldiers. Robert has held leadership roles in Civil War Round Tables, served on historical boards, and contributed to numerous publications. A frequent speaker at schools, libraries, and historical societies across the country, he is known for his engaging storytelling and deep knowledge of American military history.
