Don’t miss this upcoming event in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Happening on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at Marquette University Alumni Memorial Union Room 157. Doors open at 7:00 PM.
With his unflagging insistence that each of us must be our brothers’ and sisters’ keepers, John Steinbeck could hardly be more timely … or more necessary. Nearly nine decades after the publication of “the great American short novel “Of Mice and Men (1937) and the epic Depression-era protest novel The Grapes of Wrath (1939), take a fresh look at both masterpieces, plus three other Steinbeck classics.
This performance will feature dramatic readings with an emphasis on the author’s status as a master chronicler of the challenges of addiction, mental illness, and poverty, always advocating for “the have-nots.”
Following the readings, Mary Madden, executive director of NAMI Southeast Wisconsin, will facilitate a talk back with Megan Corse, performer, and Paul McComas, performer and creator/curator.
Hosted by Scaling Wellness in Milwaukee, National Alliance on Mental Illness S.E. Wisconsin, 4th Dimension Sobriety, and Marquette University Center for Peacemaking.
