Daniella Barbarito is a self-taught multidisciplinary artist that brings a curious perspective on her own folklore, shaped by migration and the absurdities of modernity. She blends the traditional with the strange in a playful, sometimes childlike, and always slightly melancholic and delirious space.
The cuatro, with its distinctive tuning, defines the sound of this project, accompanied by a timeless and vibrant voice, reminiscent of classical choral music. Enveloping psychedelic arrangements and rhythmic tensions reveal the richness of Caribbean music and its stimulating syncretism.
