Each attendee will recieve a kit with freshly-baked holiday cookies and decorating supplies.

Chef Diego, Goddard Riverside’s Culinary Program Manager, will provide tips and templates to create beautiful cookies — to give as a gift to someone you love this holiday season, or to eat then and there!

Drinks will also be served: Hot Chocolate, Hot Apple Cider, Coffee, Tea, and more.

ABOUT CHEF DIEGO: Chef Diego discovered his love of cooking as a small child watching his Italian grandmother cook family recipes. With an undergraduate education that started in Biochemistry and ended at the International Buenos Aires Hotel and Restaurant School (IBAHRS) Diego is uniquely prepared for life as a chef. Internships at the Claridge and Albear Palace Hotels taught him old world Argentinean traditions before he fine tuned his culinary voice at the International Hyatt of Buenos Aires and Buzios, a small boutique hotel in Brazil. Chef Diego became the face of Argentinian cooking for millions of international viewers of the hit show Cotidiano where he taught new and healthy Argentinian cuisine. He also taught as a professor at IBAHRS before traveling the world to work at St. Kitts and Nevis at the Marriott Resort and as well as Marriott Chicago. Happily, Chef Diego landed in New York City where he has worked at the Rivington Hotel at the Lower East side and then moved on to become the Executive Sous Chef at the Mondrian Soho. Then chef Diego was part of the select team that opened one of the first Meliá properties in USA, Innside New York Nomad.

Chef Diego recently joined the team at Goddard Riverside’s Workforce Culinary Programs.

ABOUT OUR CULINARY PROGRAMS: Advance and Earn / Culinary Arts Training

This jobs skills training program for out-of-school, out of work aspiring chefs, ages 18-24, teaches the intricacies of both front and back of house roles. Through virtual classroom instruction, mentorship, and coaching, participants practice strengths-based leadership and navigate difficult conversations in the restaurant industry. Our Soup’s Up program, which provides home-delivered multi-meal kits to seniors and others experiencing food insecurity, is staffed by graduates of this training program.
