Bring the heat — we’re hostin’ our 2nd Annual Chili Showdown at Rusty Nickel IceHouse!
Think your chili can take home the crown? Join us on Sunday, December 21st from 2pm–5pm for an afternoon of bold flavors, friendly competition, and some serious braggin’ rights.
Please note: This ticket is to compete in competition. $10 tasting tickets available for purchase at the door.

Rules and Requirements:
- All chili entries must follow a traditional recipe that includes any kind of meat or combination of meats, cooked with red chili peppers, various spices, and other ingredients.
- Rusty Nickel will supply 6-7 quarts of beef chuck for your recipe, propane, ice, and a trashcan.
- A 10×10 space will be provided for each station.
- Competitors MUST COOK ONSITE and are responsible for bringing their own prepped ingredients, tent, table, extension cords, and other necessary items.
Voting:
- Popular Vote: The top half of all competitors, determined by crowd voting, will advance to the celebrity judging round for a blind tasting.
- Celebrity Judges: Our judges will taste blindly and select their top three chili entries.
Prizing:
- 1st Place: $1,000
- 2nd Place: $300
- 3rd Place: Gift bag with Rusty Nickel Gift Card, Swag, and More!
All competitors must be set up and ready for sampling by 1:50pm. The event starts at 2 pm, and winners will be announced at 5:00pm.
Event Timeline:
- Load-in: 8am to 10am
- Ready to Sample: 1:50pm
- Event Start: 2:00pm
- Winners Announced: 5:00pm
