Shinehead (born Edmund Carl Aiken, April 10, 1962) is a pioneering Jamaican-British reggae/hip-hop artist known for fusing dancehall, rap, and R&B with witty, socially conscious lyrics, emerging from the New York City sound system scene in the 1980s with hits like “Jamaican in New York” and albums like Rough & Rugged, representing a unique blend of his Jamaican roots and NYC upbringing.
