New Year’s Eve Yalla! at Starr Bar – Brooklyn, NY

We are celebrating and centering the proud immigrants of this city and welcoming the New Year brown and loud with faves DJs TAUBA, 444 and KOFTA.

This New Year’ s Eve Yalla! Party will be a special night dedicated to the proud immigrants that we are, as we center our importance and power in ‘Portals of Diaspora’. Featuring an all immigrant DJ line up and spotlighting incredible local groups who work tirelessly for the cause including Make the road NY, UndocuBlack Network, Cosecha, and the Queer Detainee Empowerment Project (QDEP) as we encourage supporting them in their essential labor. From all corners of the world, SWANA and beyond, our people are here, still moving, still unshakable, and this Dec 31st as we take over Starr Bar, we will welcome 2026 with the utmost pride for what we really mean to this country, honoring our roots even louder with the global grooves that have shaped us.

As proud immigrants ourselves, with our family migrating to New York City in the late 80’s, we grew up in the pulsating heartbeat of the diverse melting pot that is NY and all that makes it the incredibly unique place that it is. And ain’t no one gonna take that from us! We always used to say from day one, YPP is a NY typa party first and foremost and IYKYK. Our interconnected diversities as natives of this town with all its overlapping textures, cultures, backgrounds and colors is what makes us and built us. Because even if this administration has sharpened its claws by stripping immigrant and refugee protections, we are not prey nor disposable. We stand strong united and together, and carry our homelands in our hips, our languages in our throats through our songs, our futures in our clapping hands and shimmying shoulders, and we will not be erased.

This NYE Yalla party will anchor us and our communities solid in this diverse city as essential members of its ecosystem as we showcase our mighty pride as we always have, in intentional representation through our influential and vibrant heritage and identities within our shared healing love for music and dance as one.
