Step into your next chapter as a birthworker with the Mama Glow Advanced Doula Mentorship Intensive Program, an immersive and empowering training experience designed to help you move from learning to launching your practice.
Across eight sessions, you’ll be mentored by two experienced Mama Glow doulas who know what it takes to build a thriving business and make a lasting impact in your community. Through interactive workshops, real-world role-play, and guided self-reflection, you’ll gain the confidence, tools, and support you need to serve families — and yourself — with professionalism and heart.
This is a launchpad. You’ll leave the program with tangible tools: your client outreach plan, website or flyer, contracts and templates, and your first connections in the field.

Curriculum Outline Section 1: Foundations of Professional Practice
Meeting 1 – Foundations & First Steps:Build community, define your “why,” and learn exactly how to find and connect with your first clients.You’ll practice professional introductions, explore what makes a great first impression, and map your first steps toward certification.
Meeting 2 – Professional Development & Business Skills:Set up your doula business for sustainability — from contracts and client communication to ethical marketing and financial confidence.You’ll create a 6-month business growth plan and learn to set boundaries with professionalism.
Meeting 3 – Organizing & Preparing for Care:Learn how to manage your calendar, organize visits, and prepare for your first birth experience.You’ll practice going “on call,” packing your doula bag, and handling that first “I think I’m in labor” phone call.
Meeting 4 – Birth Environments & Procedures:Explore birth across different settings — hospital, birth center, and home — and learn how to adapt your role to each.You’ll role-play scenarios like inductions, C-sections, and VBACs, building confidence for every situation.
Mid-Program Deliverables: Bringing Your Learning to Life
Connect with Three Potential Clients: Begin building your professional network.
Create a Website or Flyer: Establish your public-facing professional presence.
Shadow or Conduct a Practice Visit: Gain hands-on experience and reflect on what you learn.
You’ll get feedback from mentors every step of the way, ensuring your work is polished and purposeful.
Section 2: Advanced Skills & Sustainable Practice
Meeting 5 – Advocacy & Hospital Etiquette:Learn to navigate hospital systems, communicate with staff, and advocate respectfully for your clients.
Meeting 6 – Postpartum Support & Lactation:Strengthen your ability to support families through the postpartum period — including emotional recovery, feeding, and family adjustment.
Meeting 7 – Self-Care, Boundaries, & Mentorship:Explore ways to sustain your energy, set healthy boundaries, and build a supportive doula network.
Meeting 8 – Certification, Practice & Professional Growth:Get step-by-step guidance on completing your certification, Medicaid enrollment, and building a long-term vision for your doula career.
End-of-Program Deliverables
Complete a Full Client Case Study: Demonstrate your ability to guide a client through the prenatal, birth, and postpartum journey.
Portfolio of Doula Skills and Resources: Showcase your proficiency in core doula skills and create a professional toolkit for future clients.

Meet Na’sha Laqash, a Birth Witness, Assistant Midwife, Certified Breastfeeding Specialist, and Mentor devoted to guiding families and fellow birth workers through the sacred journey of birth.
