We’d like to start 2026 with new intentions, new magic, and new sound. For that end, we are blessed to have 3 vocal icons with us again, improvising, harmonizing and collaborating in real time. We will set our intentions for 2026 with a “Prayer for the New Year”, and an experimental, improvised and “Swanning” show, that never happened before, and will never happen again… ♥️
About the artists:
✨ Mendeleyev
Mendeleyev is a baritone Singer/Songwriter/ Producer based in LA, where he co-founded the community singing group: Harmonize . Appearing on Season 17 of NBC’s The Voice on John Legend’s Team, his low booming voice got all 4 coaches to turn their chairs. He also headlined the 4th of July at The Rose Bowl Stadium, singing for 30,000 people. He has a fresh and folky yet funky take on music. Fun and full of energy, Mendeleyev is always taking the next step…
✨ Archana
Indo-American singer-producer blending 20 years of Carnatic training with early-2000s R&B/pop sparkle. Her music explores queer desire with fearless vocal agility and lush, beat-driven arrangements built for heat and heart.
✨ Anilee List
Anilee List is a unique and well-rounded vocal storyteller, avid creator, and passionate collaborator. A powerhouse voice with a tender heart, Anilee’s artistry explores the complexity of the human experience and how the journey back to self can be the ultimate connector.
✨ ITAI
Saxophonist and live-electronic artist; founder of The Residency. Blending Middle Eastern roots, jazz improvisation, and groove-forward electronics, he guides face-to-face, one-night-only collaborations into real-time Sound Connections.

The Dance floor is a “No Phone Zone”: we record the sessions and take some snippets so you don’t have to, stay in the moment, and we will lyk where you can find some fun shots later.
You are part of the experience, please dance, scream, sing…
***If you want to add an instrument please coordinate in advance and get the OK
*** All Sets are being filmed and recorded!
Let’s keep deep conversations off the dancing areas… It’s not meant to be a “no talking” environment and most people are trying to connect with the music in a non-verbal way. A great place for deeper conversations is the Tea Lounge (:
The Tea Lounge
As The Tea Lounge becomes an inseparable part of The Residency’s cozy season.
With a special “tea guest” this time around!!!
Tea Lounge opens at 8pm, please join us for a cup of tea and a hang…
***As some of you might know, our regular server and fam’ Marqese, is in the hospital, recovering from spine surgery. We believe that they have been poorly mistreated, and we have put together support efforts on multiple levels. If you have it in you to contribute, or share, anything helps! and THANK YOU!

The Story of The Residency:
From ITAI: “This new season of The Residency is about intimacy and presence. Most weeks, we’ll feature one very special guest artist, sitting across from me as we create the soundtrack for the night from scratch.
A concept I like calling “Swanning”: Like two swans facing each other in a moment of deep connection, this allows us to share and respond, creating something raw, alive, and unrepeatable. In this format, the audience surrounds the face-to-face artists which forms a circle that makes everyone part of the experience. Step into the circle (:
The Zula Den:
The Zula Den is a subsidiary of the non-profit Zula Project which is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt charitable organization.
The Zula Den was created to hold space for our facilitators and their guests, our artists and their music, our teachers and their students…
Founded by husband & wife duo Eldad Alfi (@eldadalfi) and Chris Santillan (@chriss2385)
