Beneath the City, a World — Opening Reception
Join us for the opening reception of Beneath the City, a World, a group exhibition curated by Jameson Paige and presented at The Luminary.
Beneath the City, a World brings together queer and trans artists whose works reconsider our relationships to architecture, land, and ephemeral spaces of intimacy and desire. Across installation, video, sculpture, and sound, the exhibition considers how space is imagined, mapped, built, intervened upon, and lived in, speaking from queer and trans orientations to memory, community, and politics across built and imagined landscapes.
Featuring works by Aru Apaza, Jen Everett, Jesús Hilario-Reyes, Zach Hill, Marcellus, Dalila Sanabria, Vanessa Leiva Santos, Kellen Wright, and Guanyu Xu.
Opening Reception:
Friday, January 16, 2026
7–9 p.m.
Location:
The Luminary
2701 Cherokee Street
St. Louis, MO 63118
The event is free and open to the public. Additional programs will be announced following the exhibition’s opening.
