Clark After Dark: Science on Ice
January 20, 2026
7:00–10:00 PM
Ages 18+
There’s ice cold, and then there’s frozen-depths-of-space cold. What happens when materials are pushed to extreme temperatures? Flowers shatter like glass, air condenses into a liquid, and superconductors begin to levitate as if by magic.
Join us as we kick off the new year exploring the fascinating science of ice, cold, and cryogenic extremes through hands-on demos, jaw-dropping phenomena, and experiments that reveal how matter behaves when the heat is stripped away.
Then, immerse yourself in an adventure to the farthest reaches of the planet by joining us for a special showing of Antarctica 3D. This is the coldest, driest, and windiest place on Earth. You will dive beneath sea ice to experience alien seafloor worlds, where purple starfish race against encroaching ice and jellyfish perform a deadly dance. Swim alongside playful seals and soar above mountain peaks and vast penguin colonies, and marvel at the largest congregation of fin and humpback whales ever filmed.
Two showings available; 7:30 PM and 8:30 PM.
The trailer is available here (https://youtu.be/m3axr82VD3Q?feature=shared).
Come for the science, stay and chill.
