SINERR 50th Anniversary Kick Off Oyster Roast at Sapelo Island Visitors Center – Darien, GA

Join us for an afternoon of food & fun as we kick off a yearlong celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Sapelo Island National Estuarine Research Reserve (SINERR)! Established in 1976, SINERR has spent five decades protecting Georgia’s unique salt marshes, estuaries, and coastal heritage — and we’re ready to celebrate with you.

Enjoy a classic coastal oyster roast featuring local oysters, low country fare, music, and good company. Mingle with friends, community members, scientists, and coastal stewards who have made Sapelo Island such a special place.

This event marks the launch of a year of special programs and events honoring SINERR’s history, science, and community partnerships that continue to protect our coast for future generations.
