2026 USM All-South Honor Band at The University of Southern Mississippi – Hattiesburg, MS

Register now to be a part of the 2026 All-South Honor Band! You will have the opportunity to rehearse and perform with guest conductors Col. Bruce Pulver (Commander, Pershing’s Own) and Dr. Mary Land (Director of Instrumental Music Ed., Western Michigan University), as well as study with our very own Southern Miss faculty. The registration fee includes an All-South Honor Band t-shirt, lunch on Saturday, sheet music, and your experience with our clinicians!

Auditions

Auditions for ensemble and chair placement will be submitted electronically. Prepare the following etude(s) and scales to be placed in the All-South Honor Band ensembles. Recordings must be uploaded by Friday, January 23, 2026, 12:00 pm.

Instructions:

Video record your audition using a recording device; your phone, table, laptop, etc. are acceptable!

Your audition video should include:

• Introduce yourself by stating your name
• Perform your All-South Honor Band etude and scales
• Your audition video must be in one, unedited, file that includes your introduction, etude, and all scales (Do no submit multiple video links).
• Upload your audition video as an “unlisted” video to YouTube.
• Check to see that your video link is viewable. Videos that do not work may not be evaluated.

3:30-5:00pm: Masterclasses

5:00-6:30pm: Dinner – students on their own

6:30-7:30pm: USM Wind Ensemble Concert

8:00-9:30pm: Honor Band Rehearsals

SATURDAY

8:30am-12:00pm: Honor Band Rehearsals

12:15-1:30pm: Lunch at the Fresh Food Company

1:45-5:00pm: Honor Band Rehearsals

5:00-6:30pm: Dinner – students on their own

6:30-7:30pm: Feature Concert

8:00-9:30pm: Honor Band Rehearsals

SUNDAY

8:00-11:30am: Sound Checks/School of Music Auditions/Senior Lessons

12:30pm: Call time for Honor Bands
