PLEASE NOTE: On rare occasions it may be necessary to cancel State Theatre Venue Tours. On these occasions we will endeavour to re-book your tour for another date while giving you as much notice as possible. The price of each ticket includes a $1 Restoration Levy. – Experience the grandeur of standing in a 2000-seat auditorium beautifully framed by 13 hand-cut crystal chandeliers – Observe the eclectic elements of the Theatre’s Gothic, Italian and Art deco design – Discover the State’s famous Character Lounges including the exotic Butterfly Room, the Pioneer Room, and the College Room – Be mesmerised by the world’s second largest hand-cut crystal chandelier, the Koh-i-Nor – See the original mighty Wurlitzer Organ, the voice of silent movies – Admire prize-winning artworks by famous Australian artists including William Dobell, Mary Edwards, Charles Wheeler and Raymond Lindsay – Delve into the depths of the Theatre to discover engineering marvels and mechanical masterpiece .

Please note that there are a minimum of 20 stairs to the Dress Circle and Stalls. Patrons needing easy access seats should book for the mezzanine. Row H has no stairs. There are 2 stairs per row from the back row (eg row G has 2 stairs, row F has 4 stairs etc). Due to heritage restrictions the State Theatre currently has no disabled toilet within the theatre. The QT hotel, located next door, has a disabled toilet which is available for patron use. Please speak to a State Theatre usher for assistance. Access to the State Theatre is on Market Street with the accessible seating being located on the Mezzanine level. There is an audio loop located in the centre sections of the Mezzanine, in Row G. To avoid delays patrons requiring a wheelchair bay are encouraged to book their own tickets online. Bays can be purchased using the interactive seating map, with the option of additional paid or companion card tickets in the seats adjacent to the bay. Companion card holders who do not require a wheelchair bay, can book by phoning Ticketmaster’s accessible seating line on 1300 446 925 or by following the link below. Please note that all companion card holders must visit the Box Office prior to entry into the theatre and present their companion card to collect their tickets. Patrons in a wheelchair or with mobility assisted devices must enter the theatre via Door 2 (Ground Level). Accessible bathrooms (unisex) are also located on the ground floor near Theatre Door 2. Mobility accessible seating is only available in the Mezzanine area of the theatre, seating in the Stalls and Dress Circle is not recommended.
