Kansas City Jazz Academy – Spring 2026 Semester

The Kansas City Jazz Academy offers jazz instruction for middle and high school students who want to grow as musicians and performers. Students meet weekly on Saturdays for combo rehearsals, vocal jazz, and piano lessons led by professional educators at the historic 18th & Vine Jazz District. The semester culminates in public showcase performances. Open to instrumentalists and vocalists of all experience levels, the program provides an inclusive, engaging environment that celebrates Kansas City’s jazz legacy. Tuition is $100 per student, and limited scholarships are available through the American Jazz Museum website.

Dates: February 7 – May 10, 2026

Rehearsal Days: Saturdays

Times & Locations:

Instrumental Combos & Piano Lessons: 1:00–3:00 PM at the Gem Theater / American Jazz Museum (1615–1616 E. 18th Street, Kansas City, MO 64108)

Vocal Jazz: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the Blue Room (1600 E. 18th Street, Kansas City, MO 64108)

Auditions for New Students:

• Saturday, February 7, 2026 | 1:00 PM | The Gem Theater
• All new instrumental students must audition for placement. Returning students from the Fall semester do not need to re-audition.

Program Fee: $100 per student per semester

Scholarship Discount: $25 (available to approved applicants – see instructions below)
