Critically acclaimed Danish-Swedish progressive metal band VOLA is heading to Australia for the very first time in February 2026 as part of their Friend of a Phantom world tour. Their latest album, Friend of a Phantom (Mascot Records, 2024), produced and mastered by Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, The Black Dahlia Murder), marks a bold new chapter—pushing their sonic and emotional range further than ever before. From the haunting tension of Paper Wolf and the atmospheric weight of We Will Not Disband, to the explosive opening track Cannibal—featuring a powerful guest vocal from Anders Fridén of In Flames—the album delivers expansive, emotionally charged soundscapes that are both fragile and ferocious.
 
 "We never put boundaries on our songwriting," says vocalist/guitarist Asger Mygind. "We chase the ideas that surprise and excite us."
 
 Bassist Nicolai Mogensen recalls the writing sessions at a secluded cottage in Karrebæksminde: "Some songs came to life in minutes. The chemistry was electric, and ideas flowed naturally."

Following the release of Friend of a Phantom, VOLA have continued their global rise with sold-out shows and festival appearances across multiple continents. In September 2025, they’ll kick off the U.S. leg of the tour, followed by a special 10-year anniversary performance of their debut album Inmazes in their hometown of Copenhagen this November.
